No, our DC connections (fast charging) do not require any accessories. All cables and plugs are installed. Many charging locations also have a socket to connect your own AC cable (slow charging). This is a back-up solution in case something goes wrong with the fast charge.
Our fast-charging stations cannot be reserved. Fast charging does not take long, so we recommend that you wait a short while or go to another nearby charging station.

At GOFAST, you can easily pay by credit card regardless of an e-mobility provider. You can also pay with a RFID charging card or with a smartphone app from many e-mobility providers. After registering with swisscharge.ch, you can order an RFID charging card directly from the swisscharge.ch customer portal. The portal can be accessed from your desktop PC or the swisscharge.ch app. Alternatively, call 071 388 11 50 to place your order.

The amount initially debited is only a reserved sum to ensure that the funds needed for the charging process are available. Once you have finished charging, the actual cost of this is debited and the reserved amount is refunded. This usually happens within a few minutes after the charging process has concluded.

Our fast-charging stations are designed to get your car back on to the road as quickly as possible. As with petrol stations, our charging stations are not meant for long-term parking. To ensure that our stations are available to other customers, a per-minute fee is charged after one hour. For the exact conditions and prices of each location, see the location map on our website.
The price at most GOFAST stations is calculated on the basis of a price per kilowatt hour. A blocking fee is additionally charged after 60 minutes. Some of our charging stations have an alternative pricing model based on a price per kilowatt hour and a rate per minute. When you use the RFID charging card of an e-mobility provider, the price is set by that provider. This means that you may pay a different price to that paid by another customer at the same fast-charging station. Customers who pay with a credit card are guaranteed the price per kWh specified on the GOFAST display. This confusing pricing system is an unfortunate consequence of the immaturity of the electromobility market. We assume that these obstacles will disappear over time.

Yes, a battery's charge capacity and range decline over time. Tesla states that its batteries lose less than 20% of their original charge capacity after more than 300,000 km. In most cases, the batteries will last longer than the vehicles they power.
Many GOFAST charging stations have an AC connection that supports plug-in hybrids. Since plug-in hybrids generally only charge at an output of 3.7 kW, using GOFAST does not make much sense. The electricity flows just as slowly as it does at your home socket, but costs as much as a full-speed fast charge. GOFAST's AC connection is intended as a back-up solution in the event that DC charging does not work.
Most GOFAST locations have an output of 100 to 150 kW. Some stations offer more than 300 kW. In general, vehicles are the limiting factor when it comes to charging speeds, not the chargers. At present, only few vehicle types can fast charge at more than 150 kW. We are expanding our services based on developments in the electric vehicle market and ensure that our charging infrastructure is never a limiting factor. Ideal charging conditions are in place at a battery temperature of between 25°C and 35°C. Depending on the ambient temperature and the vehicle, it may take more than 200 km on the motorway to reach that temperature. Some vehicles have a battery preconditioning function. Switzerland offers no similar funding scheme. There are no public subsidies for the private construction of fast-charging stations. Some cities, municipalities and cantons offer financial support to those who wish to purchase an electric vehicle, and vehicle tax is reduced in some cantons.
