How annoying! Unfortunately, there is no go-to solution other than kindly reminding the vehicle owner about the correct way of using a charging space.
GOFAST charges a fixed fee per kilowatt hour (kWh). Rates may vary across locations. When paying by credit card, the price is displayed directly on the card terminal after selecting the plug. You can also find the respective rate for credit card payments on the location map on our website, or at app.gofast.swiss. Please note that e-mobility providers set their own prices; check the effective price directly on your provider2019;s site.
To pay by credit card, use the separate credit card terminal on the charging stations. Simply follow the instructions on the terminal.
Our charging stations support RFID charging cards from various providers. Select the correct payment method on the display. If your card still does not work, please contact our hotline on +41 800 463 444. Of course, you can always pay with your credit card, irrespective of your e-mobility provider.
Although our services are designed primarily for fast charging, many fast-charging stations also have an AC connection. This is intended as a back-up solution in case something goes wrong with the fast charge. That is why AC charging does not cost less.
There are many possible reasons for the charging process failing to start. First, ensure that the vehicle is switched off. Try unplugging the charging cable and then plugging it back in, holding it in place until it locks into the vehicle's charging port correctly. This often solves the problem. Now, restart the charging process using the display. If you still experience problems, please contact our hotline on +41 800 463 444.
The apps of most charging providers and some car navigation systems show the live status of charging stations.

No, our DC connections (fast charging) do not require any accessories. All cables and plugs are installed. Many charging locations also have a socket to connect your own AC cable (slow charging). This is a back-up solution in case something goes wrong with the fast charge.
Our fast-charging stations cannot be reserved. Fast charging does not take long, so we recommend that you wait a short while or go to another nearby charging station.
This plug is currently unusable. This is usually because another DC plug is using the same power branch. If the charging station has another side with plugs, you can use one of these instead.
Normally, you will be unable to do so, as most vehicles lock the charging cable in and this mechanism is usually linked to the vehicle locking mechanism.

At GOFAST, you can easily pay by credit card regardless of an e-mobility provider. You can also pay with a RFID charging card or with a smartphone app from many e-mobility providers. Please note that e-mobility providers set their own prices, which means that rates may vary. We recommend the provider swisscharge.ch.
After registering with swisscharge.ch, you can order an RFID charging card directly from the swisscharge.ch customer portal. The portal can be accessed from your desktop PC or the swisscharge.ch app. Alternatively, call 071 388 11 50 to place your order.
A price overview of all charging stations can be found on our website, at app.gofast.swiss or in the app of your e-mobility provider.
If you pay by credit card, you can download the invoice for your charging session by entering your details at www.gofast.swiss/receipt.
The amount initially debited is only a reserved sum to ensure that the funds needed for the charging process are available. Once you have finished charging, the actual cost of this is debited and the reserved amount is refunded. This usually happens within a few minutes after the charging process has concluded.
The prices indicated on the location map on our website are only valid for payment by credit card. Prices for payment made via RFID charging cards or an e-mobility provider’s app are set by the provider in question.
You can use the RFID charging cards of all common e-mobility providers to pay at a GOFAST station. Please note that e-mobility providers set their own prices; check the effective price directly on your provider's website. You can also pay with your credit card, irrespective of the charging network. This guarantees our effective price.

Our fast-charging stations are designed to get your car back on to the road as quickly as possible. As with petrol stations, our charging stations are not meant for long-term parking. To ensure that our stations are available to other customers, a per-minute fee is charged after one hour. For the exact conditions and prices of each location, see the location map on our website.
The price at most GOFAST stations is calculated on the basis of a price per kilowatt hour. A blocking fee is additionally charged after 60 minutes. Some of our charging stations have an alternative pricing model based on a price per kilowatt hour and a rate per minute. Please always check the pricing model on your charging service provider's app before charging. If you pay by credit card, you will find the price details on the location map on our website.
When you use the RFID charging card of an e-mobility provider, the price is set by that provider. This means that you may pay a different price to that paid by another customer at the same fast-charging station. Customers who pay with a credit card are guaranteed the price per kWh specified on the GOFAST display. This confusing pricing system is an unfortunate consequence of the immaturity of the electromobility market. We assume that these obstacles will disappear over time.
Although our services are designed primarily for fast charging, many fast-charging stations also have an AC connection. This is intended as a back-up solution in case something goes wrong with the fast charge. That is why AC charging does not cost less.
We do not currently issue our own charging card or app. You can use your credit card or the charging cards/apps of the common e-mobility providers to pay at our stations.

Many GOFAST charging stations are set up in a way that allows two vehicles to charge simultaneously. Bear in mind that the specified output applies to the entire charging station and is split dynamically when two charging processes are active.
When two charging processes are active at the same station, the output is split dynamically between the two vehicles. The specified output applies to the entire charging station, not to each plug.

To prevent surges, the vehicle reduces its charging performance as the battery level increases. Fast charging with direct current works best when your battery level is between 5% and 80%. To find out more, see our blog entry. Every battery type has a specific charge profile that tells you what is possible in ideal conditions. You can find these charge curves online or from your car manufacturer.
Fast charging is most effective if your battery level is between 5% and 80%. At a battery level of 80% or more, the charging performance of the vehicle is reduced considerably to prevent surges. To find out more, see our blog entry. Every battery type has a specific charge profile that tells you what is possible in ideal conditions. For reasons related to battery chemistry, the battery should be at a temperature of 25°C to 35°C for an optimal charging process. When the air is colder in winter, it takes a while to reach those conditions. It is therefore advisable to plan a fast-charging stop only after you have driven for a while. Some vehicles allow you to pre-heat the battery. To find out more, see our blog entry.
Various factors influence the duration of the fast-charging process. Most of them are inherent to the vehicle. They include the fast-charging ability of your battery, battery temperature and the battery's state of charge (SOC). Ambient temperature and charging station occupancy can also play a role. Ideal conditions are in place when the battery is at a temperature of 25°C to 35°C. Battery charge level also plays a role: the lower your battery, the more energy your vehicle can hold. Fast charging makes the most sense if your battery level is between 5% and 80%. Find out more from this blog entry.
Yes, a battery's charge capacity and range decline over time. Tesla states that its batteries lose less than 20% of their original charge capacity after more than 300,000 km. In most cases, the batteries will last longer than the vehicles they power.
Many GOFAST charging stations have an AC connection that supports plug-in hybrids. Since plug-in hybrids generally only charge at an output of 3.7 kW, using GOFAST does not make much sense. The electricity flows just as slowly as it does at your home socket, but costs as much as a full-speed fast charge. GOFAST's AC connection is intended as a back-up solution in the event that DC charging does not work.
Most GOFAST locations have an output of 100 to 150 kW. Some stations offer more than 300 kW. In general, vehicles are the limiting factor when it comes to charging speeds, not the chargers. At present, only few vehicle types can fast charge at more than 150 kW. We are expanding our services based on developments in the electric vehicle market and ensure that our charging infrastructure is never a limiting factor. You can find out more about 300 kW charging here.
Ideal charging conditions are in place at a battery temperature of between 25°C and 35°C. Depending on the ambient temperature and the vehicle, it may take more than 200 km on the motorway to reach that temperature. Some vehicles have a battery preconditioning function. See your vehicle manual for more details.
Unfortunately not, sorry. Your e-bike should be charged at a conventional household socket. Our infrastructure is designed for fast charging electric cars, electric motorcycles and electric lorries.
Yes. We are always looking for new, interesting locations. We are particularly interested in sites with a high footfall and attractive nearby services, such as shops or restaurants. Get in touch here.
Switzerland offers no similar funding scheme. There are no public subsidies for the private construction of fast-charging stations. Some cities, municipalities and cantons offer financial support to those who wish to purchase an electric vehicle, and vehicle tax is reduced in some cantons.
