EVTEC sells GOFAST shares
GOFAST founder member EVTEC has sold its shares of the Swiss fast charging specialists to the majority shareholder Energie 360°. With the sale of the business interest, EVTEC is aiming to strengthen its core business and concentrate even more on the development and production of DC fast chargers in the future.

EVTEC AG, formed in 2010 as a spin-off of ETH, joined together with the Swiss electromobility pioneer Marco Piffaretti in 2016 to found GOFAST. The company specialising in DC fast charger solutions played a significant part in setting up the GOFAST fast charging network, thanks to its extensive technical expertise. EVTEC has now sold its shares to Energie 360°, the majority shareholder of GOFAST.

First Swiss fast charger with 150 kilowatts
In August 2016, a milestone in the history of fast charging for electric cars was achieved at the Stalvedro motorway service station in Ticino. The charging station from EVTEC was the first fast charger with an output of up to 150 kilowatts (DC) to go into operation in Switzerland (report dated 9 August 2016). In addition to the high output, the station also ensures that all types of electric vehicles and charging ports are supported. Now, drivers of electric cars have more than 70 GOFAST locations to choose from, some of which boast outputs of more than 300 kilowatts. |
Cooperation and flexibility
GOFAST CEO Domenic Lanz stresses that GOFAST wants to continue its close cooperation with EVTEC, and it is proud that quality products ‘made in Switzerland’ – the high-performance chargers produced in the municipality of Kriens – will continue to be used.
EVTEC views the sale of the business interest as an opportunity to strengthen its core business and concentrate even more on the development and production of DC fast chargers in the future. The more distinct economic partitioning will simplify and further improve the long-standing good collaboration between the two companies and will enable them to address the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly growing market for mobility solutions with even greater focus.
