New charging recommendations by the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO)
A few days ago, the FEDRO has updated and published its «recommendations for the installation of fast chargers alongside federal roads». The goal of these recommendations is to provide cantons and motorway service areas, but also municipalities and private parties, with a set of guidelines in terms of “minimum requirements” for fast charging infrastructure. The fact that the first version was only published last year shows how quickly the industry, and particularly the technology, is progressing. GOFAST supports the FEDRO commitment: with power of 150KW DC charging, supporting all relevant standards (CCS, CHAdeMO, AC Type 2), without any discrimination of access. Additionally, GOFAST invests in the quality of the sites - the available current, the number of charging stations or assistance 24/7 – and already significantly surpasses the minimum requirements.

The people behind GOFAST – Domenic Lanz: our first employee
After getting his business degree, Domenic was managing several national and international projects for a large Swiss bank. Since some time, however, his interest in electric mobility – and its resulting changes and challenges – is increasing. He’s especially fascinated by the set-up of the (missing) infrastructure and is excited to have joined GOFAST in summer 2016 to help not only the company, but electric mobility overall, to succeed. He likes to say that Switzerland is the ideal country for EVs: low carbon electrical grid, reasonable distances and above average spending power. At the moment, Domenic is focusing on establishing interesting GOFAST locations together with local partners.

On January 19, 2017, the 7th congress “Swiss Forum Electric Mobility” is taking place in Bern. Get to know GOFAST and meet the team. In the first “impulse presentation” and during the first discussion round, Marco Piffaretti will share insights into the “startup GOFAST”, its origin, goals and challenges.
